Dr. Adam Adler, Artistic Director

Adam has served as Assistant Professor of Music Education in the Schulich School of Education at Nipissing University since July, 2007. He also serves as Ad Hoc Program Coordinator for Music in the department of Fine and Performing Arts. A founding proponent of the critical genderist perspective in music and educational research, his current research and lecture efforts are focused on male gender issues in music and education, music teacher preparation, and issues of choral community and sustainability.

Adam has served as conductor for The Ford Motor Company Chorus (Dearborn), The Crane Men's Ensemble (SUNY Potsdam), Just Singers Chamber Choir of Toronto, the The University of Toronto Hart House Singers, and also served as Interim Co-Director of Music at Centenary United Church, Hamilton. Adam has taught music in schools across southern Ontario and abroad, and is active internationally as a clinician, composer and arranger.

Cassandra Frank, Director's Assistant and
Choir Operations Coordator

Cassandra is a founding member of NNV where she sings Alto. She completed a Bachelor of Arts degree at Nipissing University, and is presently enrolled in the consecutive Bachelor of Education program. As Director's Assistan and Choir Operations Coordinatort, Cassandra oversees the choir's library, rehearsal logistics, and anything else that is needed to keep the Director calm.

Raymond Gauthier,
Concert Logistics Coordinator

Raymond is a founding member of NNV where he sings as lead Tenor. As Concert Logistics Coordinator, Raymond coordinates concert planning and logistics, and organizes special events such as our Vocal Masterclass Weekend with Master Teacher Tom Schilling. Raymond is a student in the Practical Nursing program at Canadore College. For the past several summers, Raymond has served as Vocal Director for TOROS summer musical theatre.

Schools Concert Coordinator
Allison coordinates ticket orders and distribution for Near North Voices. She is also Coordinator for the Elmer Iseler Singers Schools Concert. Allison is in her third year of study in the Bachelor of Arts/Concurrent Bachelor of Education, and is a vocal applied student in our music program.

Dr. Glenda Black, Treasurer
Glenda serves as Assistant Professor of Education in the Schulich School of Education at Nipissing University, where she teaches Methods and Classroom Management. She sings soprano in NNV and brings great happiness and spirit to our ensemble! As Treasurer, Glenda overseas collection of member contributions and donations and monitors the director's spending.

Carol Szabicot, Graphic Design
Carol is a founding member of Near North Voices, where she sings alto. A talented Graphic Design Artist, Carol does all of the programme and advertising graphics for NNV. She serves as Graphic Design Technician for Nipissing University's Department of External Relations and Advancement.

Paul Baker, Media Relations
Paul has been a member of Near North Voices' bass section since 2008. As Media Relations Coordinator, Paul ensures that news about all of our exciting choral endeavours reaches the public. Paul also serves in a professional capacity as Media Director for the North Bay Symphony Orchestra. Paul is also an artist through the medium of photography.
