Chris Sarlo was born in North Bay, Ontario. He has a PhD in economics from Queen’s University and has taught economics at Nipissing University since 1984. His research over the past twenty years has focussed on the measurement of poverty and he has published a number of articles and monographs on the subject. He is a senior fellow at the Fraser Institute and is a ardent supporter of individual liberty and free markets
