THE SAINT LUCIA PROJECT
In 1992, Nipissing University began a CIDA-sponsored partnership with the Caribbean island of St. Lucia. Briefly - 7 St. Lucian students came to Canada to complete their degrees at Nipissing University. Meanwhile, groups of Nipissing professors made periodic trips to St. Lucia to provide environmental courses and workshops for selected teachers and members of the St. Lucian government. The CIDA-sponsored aspect of the project culminated as Nipissing faculty trained their colleagues at Sir Arthur Lewis College in St. Lucia to take over the program. Various supportive links remain.
