PROFILE:

Dr. Bolger is now actively involved in his thirty-eighth year of education.  Having  retired as a Principal with D.S.B. Ontario North East, Doug is currently an Assistant Professor (part-time) in the Sociology Department of the Faculty of Arts and Science at Nipissing University.  Dr. Bolger also serves as an Educational Consultant to District School Boards and to L(earn)2 a staff training and development company.  

Dr. Bolger is a Sociology/Geography major from the University of Western Ontario. He has completed an Educational Doctorate Degree in Educational Administration at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education in 1994.  He has twenty-two years experience as an elementary school principal, two years as the Curriculum and Professional Development Officer with the former Timiskaming Board of Education, seven full time years at the Faculty of Education, Nipissing University as well as nine years as an instructor in the Masters of Education Program. 

He has also been involved in the writing & the instruction of courses for the Additional Qualifications/In-service Program and for the Advanced Degree in Educational Leadership.  Doug has also conducts staff development workshops for District School Boards and has many years of experience in community service. In the Faculty of Arts & Science, Dr. Bolger is in his fifth year as the instructor of EDUC0106 & SOCI2095. Last year, Dr. Bolger will also taught GEOG2407 & GEOG2406 and has, in past years, also instructed PSYC3405.
