Nipissing University. Project is entitled ‘Validation of an Innovation Challenge Scorecard (ICS) to help managers select effective innovation project execution practices”. $4920. 2005 INTERAC Research Grant. Jointly funded by Materials and Manufacturing Ontario, an Ontario Centre of Excellence and three industrial partners. Topic being researched was innovation processes within SME-sized mechanically-based manufacturing companies. $20,000. 2004 Internal Research Grant. Nipissing University. Topic researched was stress/deception detection software methods to aid analysis of qualitative video data. $1,361 1988-1999 Various research grants, joint ventures, investments etc., to support development of a mining automation system. Funding provided by Canadian Ministry of Energy, Mines and Resources, FedNor, Northern Ontario Heritage Fund, Innovation Ontario, Inco, Falconbridge, Hudson Bay Mining and Smelting, Teck-Corona, and others. Total funding of approximately $5,000,000.

Management and Technology Practitioner Experience
1987-1999 President, Chairman, Founding ShareholderMintronics Systems Corporation, North Bay, Ontario, · Created the concept and obtained financing to successfully research and develop the patented OptiTrak system, a retrofit system for completely automating underground mining trucks. System utilized a combination of visible spectrum, pulsed scanning lasers for guidance, a GHz frequency, microwave-based, collision avoidance system and remote infrared and radio controls. Spin-off products of TeleTrak (loader automation), BodyGuard (proximity detection for industrial vehicles) and PathFinder (traffic control for underground mines) were also created. · Managed overall operation with specific responsibility for strategic planning, project management, finance, personnel and sales and marketing functions. Highlights include completion of world's first operational mine vehicle automation system and formation of a research team of highly motivated, highly trained, individuals. · Raised approximately $5MM from combination of private, public, industry, government and institutional sources. Managed R&D project management team of up to 15 individuals and established multiple partnerships with Fortune 500 mining companies. 1987-1996 Vice-PresidentCG’s Fitness Ltd., North Bay, Ontario, · Participated in ownership, management and financing efforts for an upscale, 9000 square foot, multi-use fitness club. 1984-1987 Manager, Sales and EngineeringLHD Equipment Ltd.
