Welcome to EDUC 4867 – Junior/Intermediate Visual Arts!
The purpose of this course is to help you feel comfortable teaching visual arts to learners in grades 4 through 10. You will learn art education theory along with practical skills in drawing, design, painting, sculpture, printmaking, art history and criticism, and tips on what works and what doesn’t for teaching art at this level. Even experienced artists will learn new skills, especially how to break down techniques in order to teach them effectively. This course is practical with emphasis on studio workshops and integration opportunities, and will be augmented with art education resources that can be found on this web site.
