Why use it?

Why Use E-Stat?

Using E-STAT is one way of “seeing” Canadian data at the local, district, provincial or federal levels. While data can be produced in raw tabular format they can also be presented in various graphs as well as in a map (single variable only).

For example, if I want to know what percentage of persons speak French as their home language in my local township in relation to adjacent townships I can easily see this relationship in map format. For the township of Dymond (Tri-towns in North-eastern Ontario) I can see this in map format (SHOW ME).

If I want to compare the average  income of males and females in the surrounding census tracts in my city (ex. Winnipeg; census tract 018 ) I can first create a map of the average incomes of females (or males), do a map (SHOW ME) and then do a graph comparing the average incomes of males and females in the tracts adjacent to my home. (SHOW ME)
