A Community Pow Wow:
Learning Through Experience

Welcome! Thank you for visiting our website. We are a group of students at Nipissing University , currently enrolled in a second-year anthropology course entitled "Communities and Cultures in Contemporary Canada." Our class participated in the 18th Annual Pow Wow organized by the Aboriginal Learning Unit at Canadore College here in North Bay , Ontario . Working as a collaborative research team, we formed small groups and divided the research work amongst ourselves. We chose to focus on four topic areas in regards to the Pow Wow, and also to create this informative web site about our experiences. We hope this website will allow us to reach out to our community, partly as a means of thanking the many people who were our teachers during this project. We hope you will contact us with any thoughts you might have about our work. Enjoy!
