    "The CID-UNESCO is an independent, non-profitmaking organization. It was founded on November 12, 1973, with the support of UNESCO, its headquarters being in Paris."

    "In 1975 UNESCO recognized the CID as a non-governmental organization (NGO). It thus enjoys the same status as other important cultural organizations, such as the INTERNATIONAL MUSIC COUNCIL, the INTERNATIONAL MUSIC INSTITUTE, and the INTERNATIONAL THEATRE INSTITUTE, with whom its has established contacts."
