COURSE TOPICS:
All course topics reflect the objective of preparing participants to teach diverse learners in contemporary Junior/Intermediate classrooms. Effective teaching and learning strategies that promote language across the curriculum in the J/I grade levels will be integrated throughout course readings, class discussions, class/group activities, the ongoing study of children’s and young adult literature, written assignments, and multi-media presentations. Consistent opportunities will be provided for all participants to read, write, think, and to engage in the development of their own reflective practices. Please refer to the Schedule of ‘Course Topics and Assigned Readings’ on pp. 3 & 4 for additional details.
