I recommend a quick review of each. The reviews will highlight the types of content covered in the lectures and the types of exam questions asked. I also recommend that you complete each assignment section-by-section as you encounter\/review the relevant course materials.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>due dates<\/strong> <em>do not represent when you start<\/em>; they represent <strong><em>when you need to be finished<\/em><\/strong>. After the due date, you will no longer have access to the assignment. <strong>Work<\/strong> on the open-book assignments <strong>gradually<\/strong> over time. <strong>Enter<\/strong> and <strong>Save<\/strong> your answers as you work on the questions for specific topics. But <strong>do not Submit<\/strong> your answers <strong>until<\/strong> <strong>all<\/strong> of the <strong>questions are complete<\/strong> because undoing premature submissions is problematic. You are expected to <strong>arrange your schedule<\/strong> to <strong>be available<\/strong> <strong>for<\/strong> each of the <strong>scheduled<\/strong> <strong>exams<\/strong>.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left: 7%\">2. Given the large class size, there are <strong>minimal opportunities<\/strong> for <strong>questions during<\/strong> the <strong>exams<\/strong>. There is space to write comments about specific test items. When I review the test results and your comments, if needed, I will adjust the scoring and\/or eliminate problematic items.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left: 7%\">3. <strong>Midterm I<\/strong> is worth 15% and <strong>Midterm<\/strong> <strong>II<\/strong> is worth 20%.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left: 10%\">3.1 The Midterm questions will focus on <strong>all<\/strong> <strong>prior<\/strong> course content (readings, lectures, videos, etc.) covered <strong>up to the date<\/strong> of the test. The <strong>date<\/strong> of each Midterm is identified <strong>in the schedule <\/strong>below.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left: 10%\">3.2 <strong>Once you start<\/strong>, you will <strong>have 65\/75 minutes<\/strong> for Midterm 1\/2, respectively. [For SAS registered students, your test time will be extended appropriately.] Please <strong>read<\/strong> and <strong>think about <\/strong>the<strong> questions carefully<\/strong>. Most people finish well under the time limit.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left: 7%\">4. If <strong>uncontrolled circumstances<\/strong> cause you to miss a Midterm, please contact me as soon as possible. If you have provided me with a <u>legitimate reason<\/u> for missing <u>and<\/u> not too much time has passed, we will arrange an alternative examination. If <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">too much<\/span> time has passed, with sufficient justification, I will transfer the value of your missed Midterm (15% or 20%) to the value of your Final exam (\u2191 by 15% or 20%).<br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left: 7%\">5. The <strong>Final Exam<\/strong> is worth 30% of your final grade.
