I am the recipient of the 2008 K.D. Srivastava Prize for excellence in scholarly publishing for <em>Creating a Modern Countryside: Liberalism and Land Resettlement in British Columbia<\/em> and the 2002 Prix Guy et Lilianne Fr\u00e9gault for best article published in the <em>Revue d\u2019histoire de l\u2019Am\u00e9rique fran\u00e7aise<\/em>. I am the Program Coordinator for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nipissingu.ca\/academics\/school-graduate-studies\/master-arts-history\">MA in History Program<\/a> and a member of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nipissingu.ca\/academics\/school-graduate-studies\/masters-environmental-science-studies\">Masters in Environmental Science\/Studies<\/a> program at Nipissing University, an Associate of the <a href=\"https:\/\/wilson.humanities.mcmaster.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Wilson Institute for Canadian History<\/a> at McMaster University, and a board member of <a href=\"https:\/\/niche-canada.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">NiCHE<\/a> (Network in Canadian History of the Environment). I am also, with R.W. Sandwell and Jennifer Bonnell, academic editor of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mqup.ca\/browse-books-pages-46.php?filters=a%3A1%3A%7bi%3A13%3Bs%3A4%3A%223603%22%3B%7d\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">McGill-Queen\u2019s Rural, Wildland and Resource Studies Series<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Research<\/h2>\n<p>My research interests are in Canadian food systems in the early to mid-20th century; state management of the Canadian food economy during the Second World War; Canadian environmental history; agricultural history; the history of capitalism; British Columbia; Nova Scotia.<\/p>\n<p>My current project How Canadians Ate: Developing Food Systems in 20th Century Canada is funded by a SSHRC Insight Development Grant ($74,805).
