I was born and raised in Rwanda, a country of a thousand hills in East Africa. My academic journey includes a Post-Doctoral Fellowship at the University of Toronto, a Ph.D. in Nursing from Western University, an MPH in International Health from Mount Kenya University, an MSc in Pediatric Nursing from the University of Rwanda, and a BSc in Nursing from Kigali
Health Institute (2010).
Currently, I teach nursing courses such as Introduction to Holistic Nursing, Development of Nursing Knowledge, Concepts in Maternal and Child Health, and Professional Nursing.
My research is focused on improving health outcomes for mothers, children, and adolescents, particularly in low-resource settings, with a commitment to addressing health disparities and promoting equity. I work to develop effective interventions and analyze social determinants of health, studying barriers to healthcare access for marginalized groups and evaluating health system reforms’ impacts on patient outcomes. My work also includes examining health challenges faced by immigrants and developing culturally sensitive interventions, as well as aligning nursing curricula with current needs by incorporating innovative teaching methods responsive to emerging health challenges.
