About Dr. BJ Schreyer


Dr. Boguslaw J. Schreyer is a retired Associate Professor of Computer Science and Mathematics at Nipissing University in North Bay, Ontario. Over a career spanning more than five decades and several countries — including Poland, Algeria, and Canada — he taught a broad range of courses in computer science and mathematics, from introductory programming to artificial intelligence and robotics, and was involved in developing Nipissing’s Computer Science program and Robotics Laboratory.

His research interests have included automatic control systems, mobile robotics, artificial neural networks, and software modelling, with work presented at conferences in North America and Europe. Over the years, both he and his students have received best presentation awards at international conferences. He has also explored the creative side of computing, authoring a poetry book rooted in the concept of Computer Creativity. Outside the classroom, he volunteered as a mentor with the FIRST Robotics Competition and served as a judge at various science fairs and competitions.
