My research area includes firm’s financing strategies and capital structure management. In 1990s I was doing my postgraduate studies at Saint-Petersburg State University. The topic of studies was the problem of issues of securities by commercial banks. Simultaneously I was working in finance industry as a capital market specialist in a bank. My job functions included investments, trading of stocks and organizing the issues of securities. I began my Ph.D studies at University of Quebec at Montreal at 2000 and completed it with honors at 2005. The thesis title was three essays in capital structure management. Since 2004 I have been working full time in academia mostly teaching finance courses.
